Sham Tickoo is a professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology at Purdue University Calumet, in Hammond, Indiana. He has been teaching CAD/CAM, AutoCAD, AutoLISP, drafting, and design since 1981. In addition to his academic career, he has worked as a machinist, quality control engineer, design engineer, and software developer. Mr. Tickoo's general research interests are in the design and development of new products like windmill turbines. Sham Tickoo has authored and coauthored several books on CAD/CAM like CATIA, NX, Pro/E, Solid Works, Solid Edge, Autodesk Inventor and 3ds Max. He received his Master of Science Degree in Industrial Technology from Northern Illinois University and his Master of Science Degree in Industrial and Management Engineering from the University of Iowa, Iowa City.

Having been born in Mississippi and having defected to the West at the age of 23, I picked up Wilke's book to get in touch with my "Southern roots". MacBroom's chapter on the evolution of channels in former reservoirs is excellent, though partly superceded by his recent paper on the same topic with Laura Wildman. Bor-ing, Bor-ing, Boring!!!
Unless you are John Beresford Tipton or Michael Anthony (And how many of you remember those names?), this is not the book for you, or for most of us.
One has to really be into the history of Wall Street or Bernard Baruch to get into this book.Otherwise, it's dull, gray, difficult reading, good put-me-to-sleep reading. I gave this book to my step-brother. The reference sections after each chapter will have you hitting Google Scholar or your local university libaray. As I read this, I felt that God's hand can be seen all through her life. They showed me how much we all can learn from this - the final chapter we all must live. To
